Description
The Kyoritsu 5020 is a compact three channel data logger, which can be used to simultaneously record leakage current, load current and voltage. With 4 recording modes, the Kyoritsu 5020 can undertake various measurements, and store up to 60,000 data points in it's non-volatile memory, meaning that even if power is lost, the recorded data is retained in the device.
Setting up and configuration of the Kyoritsu 5020 is simple and can be performed in a few easy steps. The user has to simply connect the sensor, or sensors to the instrument, and confirm the recording mode to be used. These recording modes (Normal, Trigger, Capture and Power Quality Analysis) allow for various measurements to be made, depending on what parameters the user wishes to record.
The data logger can also be fixed inside a metal distribution board with the magnet in it's rear side for ease of positioning and safety, and it's battery can allow for up to 10 days of recording (alkaline battery). An optional power supply is available separately, in the event that a longer recording is required.
The LCD display makes most pertinent information available at a quick glance, such as mode, sensor connection status, max, min and average value for each channel, complete with time and date information (in normal mode). Detected values (for example when a parameter is outside of preset limits) can be displayed in other modes. Additionally, the last 10 recorded data points, including time/date can be recalled on the display. A LED on the front of the Kyoritsu 5020 flickers whenever the preset voltage/current value is exceeded.
The Kyoritsu 5020 is also supplied with KEW LOG Soft 2, which is a Windows based software program used for analysing and processing of the recorded data with a PC. KEW LOG Soft 2 is an enhanced software program, which allows the user to configure data logger settings, process large data files, graph results, and display power quality issues, such as voltage swells, dips and interruptions. The names of up to 1,000 sites can be registered and multiple loggers can even be connected via a USB hub and time synchronised.

- Power Quality Analysis: Reference voltage, Swell, Dip, Short power Interruptions.
- Variation of the measured voltage and current data can be confirmed simultaneously on the PC display monitor.
- Large capacity for storing 60,000 data points when 1 channel is used, and when all the three channels are used, 20,000 data points per channel can be recorded.
- Low pass Filter will filter out the harmonics (cutoff frequency = approx. 160Hz)
- LED flickers when the preset current / voltage value is exceeded
- The following can be displayed: number of recorded data points, (max+ min+ peak) value for each channel complete with time/date information in the Normal recording mode. (Detected values (i.e. when values are outside preset limits ) can be displayed in other recording modes)
- The last 10 recorded data points including time/date can be recalled on the logger display
- Selection of One-time mode or Endless mode:
- One-time on: Recording will stop when memory is used up
- One-time off: Overwrite the old data, and store the latest data
- Non Volatile Memory: Recorded data will be retained even if the batteries are exhausted or replaced due to the presence of a nonvolatile memory (guaranteed for 10 years)
- Battery power indicator: Indicates battery voltage in 4-levels (It is possible to use the logger for a further approx. 24 hours even after the warming symbol is flashing)
- User-friendly PC software "KEW LOG Soft 2" is supplied
- Permits editing, analysis and graphical display of data.
- Recorded data is downloadable onto a PC via USB cable.
- Simplified Power Integration: (The "KEW LOG Soft 2" uses current and voltage recorded to calculate the integral power consumption).
