When the Instrument Choices partner lab performs a calibration service, your equipment will be tested against a known and calibrated accurate reference, you will be provided with a signed NATA endorsed certificate which displays the results.
Where possible (depends on the unit) the reading of the equipment will be adjusted (if not you will be receive an adjustment figure). The functions of the equipment will be tested to ensure it is working correctly. New batteries will be installed (where replaceable) so you get maximum battery life after calibration.

Why should calibration be performed?
Just like getting your car serviced and tuned it is important for test equipment and data loggers to be checked and calibrated regularly for optimum accuracy. Being checked will give you the confidence that the equipment continues to read correctly and your tests are accurate.
Regular calibration/certification is important. If your equipment has gone out of calibration you may not be aware; it will appear to be working correctly but may not be accurate to the level it is designed for, as equipment can change over time. If you are working under tight tolerances or meeting regulations then you need to know it is giving you the correct data. Sometimes the equipment has been knocked when in use putting it out of calibration. Only by testing your equipment in a lab under controlled conditions can you be assured of its accuracy.
